3rd date

Not all dates are created equal. My first two dates went so well, not that this one was bad, but sometimes a date falls a little short. It started out great with Nickel City and by some freak accident Brayden and I won over 200 tickets through sheer dumb luck of getting the jackpot in one game.

But from tonight I’ve learned some important lessons for future dates.
  • End the date when it’s over. After Nickel City Brayden wanted to play cards so we went to his place and played for a little while. As it got later we got tired and the conversation died easily.
  • Clarify the plans. We told Cara’s date that we were going to Nickel City but didn’t specify anything about dinner. It wasn’t in our plans but we did go to Wendy’s for frosty’s as a last minute addition. It wasn’t until we were all headed home that Cara’s date mentioned he was going to go eat dinner because he hadn’t eaten all day. I felt horrible. Dates are to have fun with other people, not to starve them.
  • Go cheap. Nickel City is pretty cheap but when the Nickels run low it’s easy to get caught in the trap of buying more.
Overall this date was great but there are some things I’ll definitely tweak for next week. This whole thing is a trial and error process so I can’t expect every date to be better than the last. Luckily it was just one date and with any luck all is not lost.
